The story of 'The Wonders of this Place' song

Conceived as a poem, which then became a song in September 2023, 'The Wonders of this Place' is the first song to be written and composed by Lumondt Kritzinger, the Founder of 'The Wonders of this Place – CLIMATE EDUCATION'. As a passionate pianist and poet, his ambition to have a song that could be leveraged globally to specifically further climate education and awareness, led to the launch of the song as well as this Initiative, on World Earth Day 2024.

The vision for ‘The Wonders of this Place’ song is to have In-Country community translated versions that can be leveraged to form the basis of youth education initiatives in the primary languages of every country of the world. The song has been translated into a few languages already with more translations in progress. A supporting music video adds further impetus to the climate education and awareness imperative. We invite you to make use of these music videos in your global climate education programmes.

You can hear a range of diverse renditions of ‘The Wonders of this Place’ to unite the globe in a shared mission to cherish and protect our planet Earth.

The Wonders of this Place

This world of ours – what does it mean,

When storms and droughts persist?

Our life is now – but oh so short,

Doing the things we can’t resist.

Tomorrow is the future,

What does tomorrow bring?

To me and every other soul, when

No longer we can sing,

About our planet that we cherish,

Bringing smiles to every face,

With nature’s heartbeat at our door,

Oh, the wonders of this place.

Decisions that we’re making

One human at a time,

This song is ours forever, but

Will the earth retain its chime?

When in every country of our earth

We’re challenged to the core,

With issues that behold us

How can we be so sure?

Tomorrow is the future

What does tomorrow bring?

To me and every other soul, when

No longer we can sing,

About our planet that we cherish, bringing

Smiles to every face,

With nature’s heartbeat at our door,

Oh, the wonders of this place.

Oh, the wonders of this place.
